I have copied below a copy of the post that has been entered on the Warrington Wolves site for general interest and from anybody from that end of the M62 who would like to support the event.

I am aware that there are moves afoot to put on a similar function in Hull.

"We have got the preparations for the dinner in a state ready for publication and below is set out the detail of the flyer.

As I become aware of other guests (past players, media people, other personalities) who commit to the event, I shall keep this site up to date with those names.

The after-dinner event will take the form of a series of informal chats with the headline guests and other past players and personalities, carried out by a number of well-known TV and radio presenters, all watched over by the eagle eye of headmaster of ceremonies Eddie Hemmings. A widely interesting and entertaining evening is guaranteed in the company of a veritable cornucopia of characters from the Warrington rugby league world and beyond.

Please support the cause of a man who was more than just a classy rugby league half-back who graced the primrose and blue – he was also a man who used his celebrity and profile to benefit and improve the community in which he lived and set a shining example to us all as a husband to Amanda and a father to Kane, Ebony and Tom, factors why he is still held in high esteem and great affection by anybody who ever had the good fortune to come into contact with him. This is borne out by the number of high-profile names who are committed to showing their support for him.

Good luck and best wishes for the evening.

Greg was a fine player, it's such sad news to hear what he's going through.
