The problem is if you start the season badly next year and lose 4 or 5 of the opening games its then probably too late for any new coach to rescue the season to ensure a top eight finish.

Pearson should use his common sense and realise he has made a major error in appointing Radford as first team coach and ask him to stand down to save both their faces.
