I'd offer him an incentive based contract but I'm also a great man manger so he'd end up doing exactly what I wanted and feeling like he'd got what he wanted. I don't think the balling him out in front of his fellow players and criticising him in the press strategy would work in this instance

Agreed.....think I was told he is a modern youth and over confident. He is just getting a reality check at the moment. I think it's hard for any club as you cannot let talent hold you to ransom. Ben crooks is the same....good player and a great first season but his defence has been found out and it needs to improve but he is still living on the memories of his first season IMO

maybe, just maybe he wants too much money for a kid with about 10 games experience. You would all be moaning if we miss out on someone if we couldn't fit them under the cap because we overpaid an inexperienced winger

If he wants £50k+ send him packing. Apart from raw speed he hasn't shown anything to suggest he's some kind of wonder kid.
If somebody wants to pay him that ridiculous sum then fine, but I can only see one chairman willing to do what it takes so he can play the 'brought one of our own back from the dark side' card.

If true about his demands, then the right stance by the club, shown potential, but could be another Tommy Lee.

I personally think he will sign, seems very happy at the club, even after being dropped his tweets were very pro Hull.

I hope he signs, but I don't think it would be a catastrophe or 'goes against everything AP said' blah blah blah for him to leave if we've offered him a competitive deal. Under the previous regime (KH) I could see us not, but not under AP.

Plus he's a 17 year old kid, the 'fresh start' tweet could just as easily be about teenage puppy love crap! We've all been there.
