| Given the fact that the so called “rejects” always seem to play well when facing Hull FC, and we will probably see this happening again on Thursday evening, I am wondering how a team of past Hull players currently plying their trade in the Super League would do against the present side.
The team I suggest only contains those who were let go by the club and not players who were offered a fresh contract but decided to go elsewhere.
Therefore the likes of Briscoe, Turner, Manu and Tickle are not included.
A suggested team:
Russell (Warrington) or Tansey (Castleford);
Dixon (Castleford), Hall (Rovers), Phelps (Widnes) or Arundel (Castleford), Broughton (Huddersfield);
Ellis (Castleford), Brough (Huddersfield);
Lynch (Castleford), Hodgson (Rovers), Wheeldon (Castleford);
G Horne (Rovers), Pitts (Bradford)
Washbrook (Wakefield).
Bench:
O’Carroll (Widnes), Carvell (Castleford), Lee (Salford), Lyne (Wakefield)
I am sure contributors to the forum can come up with some more names.
How would this team do against the present side?
Any nominations for coach?

| I don't think its right to include loan players like Russell and Broughton as they were never Hull's to lose. However I would include Briscoe and Turner who though they received offers, there was a feeling at the time that there was no real effort to keep them. Indeed Briscoe's offer was withdrawn in the end.
Sad to say I would back the exiles/rejects on current form.

I'll need refreshing on the Turner situation but as I recall didn't we want him moving into/closer to Hull and he wasn't keen to do that? Regarding Briscoe's offer, that was on the table for a long time and he kept moving the goalposts about when he would make a decision. The club couldn't wait forever. I think if he really wanted to stay with us he wouldn't have done that.

Both Turner and Briscoe wanted to leave. Briscoe messed us around a bit while he finalised his Leeds deal. Turner straight told us he was leaving.

In fairness, Turner wanted to leave to be near his family and the Saints offer was a bonus.
