I wonder if Pearson was smart enough to put any minimum achievements into Radford's contract, like top 8 qualification. If so this might reduce any likely payout for getting rid of him. Just a thought.

I thought the same. We as a club are operating at full cap, but Radford is working from a squad costing £1.2m. And maybe he didn't want to get into the reasons because he couldn't think of a way to say he's not considering £400k worth of players because they're on his sh*tlist that seems reasonable when we're 3rd from bottom.

What would be the point in freeing up cap space if we have no plans to sign anyone this year?

A projection that if the current rate of spending continued, the club would of finished the year over the cap?

Why mention taking pressure off of the cap then if that's all it is.
