Very enjoyable evening, particularly after our dreadful performance in this fixture last year and the dire 0-7 effort at home.

The most pleasing part was our defence in the second half, real visible effort and determination. And the raft of tries scored by Shaul and Lanky Lancaster. Lacked any sort of clinical edge in the first half and could have had more tries by half time with better execution. Westy's tantrum was first class when Tuson, I think it was, made an error near their line. Great passion.

Looks as if all that training on Brid beach and the sea swimming is paying off for you.

When a team is poor you can on an average display beat them by 24/30 points but that was a bit special whoever the opposition was and however they were playing.

Second half probably the best 40 minutes of rugby we have seen for many a day. What was great was the way that we bombed chances in the first half by forcing the ball and making one too many passes as we tried to score off every play! but by and large then we put it right at half time, we didn't buckle when the got the rub and kept going. Tackling was superb throughout though, as was the goal kicking! Long trip but great night!! Only one win only two points but something to build on!

And how many times have Hull FC won the World Club Challenge?

50 points in 2 consecutive away games. Not sure when (of if) that has happened.

Surprisingly it's as recently as 2011. We won 58-18 at Crusaders and 50-18 at Cas in rounds 25 and 26 of Agar's last season.

I hope the rumours about watts and particularly thompson leaving aren't true. thompson definitely should stay as he has been in our top 3 forwards this season and will only get better IMO. watts has the talent but needs nurturing.

Having said that, if we do get taylor then we probably have too many props
