Not a Rovers fan, but generally I'd like to think I know my rugby league, the players I quoted especially the backs were like for like players/positions. Having seen both Derby matches, these players out performed their opposite numbers, hence the two results. On current form I'd swap welham for yeaman, welhams attack has been poor and his defence is as shocking as ever, at least yeaman defends well.

But the number of games sufficient to maintain that gap depends on how the best placed team below you is doing, which in turn depends on how their opponents are doing, which in turn...

You get the idea.
