I think Crookes is simply an easy target as far as the official was concerned. He's known as a bit of a hot head and technically it was all wrong. If that had been for arguments sake say Joel monaghan, young Joe Burgess on that wing for Wigan or even Ade Gardner in that game - do you think they would have been sent off? Nope.

On another note, there's no way theyd have sent off a Rovers player in this fixture after last year.

The same ref didn't send Bowen off for a diabolical poleaxing of Grix in round one. Silverwood was five yards away from that incident but put him on report. Not so this one. Conclusions are easy to draw.
