The thing I'm most surprised about is Pitts not being in the squad when our front row is as depleted as it is. He's got plenty of experience of playing prop (or 13 in a similar style) which is what we would need in this game where we potentially will only have 1 recognised prop (Watts) playing there.
I don't think Prop is the position for Pitts in the long run but surely he should have at least been in the squad for this game with Green, Carvell, Paea, Bowden, and possibly Feka all out?

Unsurprised at Miller's absence. I think he's deserving of a shot when you look at the performances of our other HBs but I don't think that this is the weel for it when we have so many injuries in other areas.

I think we'll see either Houghton or Heremaia playing some of the game at 13 with the other at Hooker.

You better hope that Crooks doesn't play on Sunday, otherwise your argument is in bits. Either way, I think that you are wrong. Whilst his defence isn't brilliant, it's not the disaster you're making it out to be.

I also agree with others, Pitts is the more baffling omission if he's fit, just seems bizarre.

Someone asked James Smailes on Twitter if Pitts was going to get a look in this week, he replied 'doubt it'. Indicates to me that there's more to it.

Actually, he replied "I'd say slim, but we'll see" when asked about the chances of Pitts playing, which could imply almost anything.

Ah right, knew it was something like that. I think it's a little naive to say it could imply anything though, given the decimation of our front row and subsequent shuffling around and inclusion of two relatively inexperienced back rowers.

Crooks was dropped through bad form, & I am suprised he isn't this week, pitts is a decent squad player & he should be in this week whilst our 1st choice forwards are out but the coach must see something different on the training park.

miller isn't very good which his fan club seem to ignore, although there must come a point where it's worth trying him.
