I really enjoyed the game and was pleased with some promising signs on the pitch. Thought Horney had a great game and made some very important cover tackles. For our first competitive game in blustery conditions I went home happy as two points is two points. I still think Hull will be much much better when the weather fairs up. Rankin will be a very good signing based on what I saw of him (he said after the match at he is well on with learning the words to Old Faithful) and he has pace to burn. As already said a kicker is required though as 12 points went begging.

Forgot to mention that Rankin said after the game that he was a goal kicker and will be happy to take the kicks if asked to do so. He hinted that he didn't want to step on anyone's toes unless he was asked to kick. I think we might see him taking a pop at goal against Saints.

Yes it also affected Bosch who is a top quality goalkicker, so some excuse for our boys.

I didn't mind the explanations, but its the constant referrals of decisions to the big screen that annoys me, several last night were clearly No Try's and both sets of players knew that too, yet they kept wasting time going to the screen.

A few times they wanted to know how to restart the match.

How could Thaler not see Crooks' try was fine, he couldn't have been in a better position to see the grounding. Can't believe he sen that to the screen but just happily gave. Whiting's (which at first viewing I thought he'd grounded short).
