Quote: Staffs FC "Fair enough - it hasn't come across that way to me, certainly not to the level you have picked up. Not heard the Feka interview but judging by some antics it could just as easily be a wind up. Indeed the owner himself spoke in the press yesterday ..

I'm not picking up from Pearson there any indications that discipline will be meted out in the form of "fear, threats, and physical violence" indeed he seems to have totally bucked that theme ....
[iHe’s technically as good a coach as Peter Gentle was. He’s more assertive, has the respect of the players and works as hard as anyone
"Lee has made it clear to every player and every employee what their role is and what is expected of them.
“Hopefully, those standards will see improved performances.
“Lee will be given time. We've got a difficult start to the season, but there will be no dramas at this end. Lee is the right man, I know that, and I’ll stand behind him because he’s a top guy.”

All pretty reasonable stuff really. I think at least as much of the stuff you allude to has been generated by the fans as the club on the back of Radford's playing image and his penchant (and ability) for boxing. Maybe Feka was just rolling along on that particular bandwagon (or having a laugh) ? Hard for any of us to tell based on us not being anywhere near training or the players themselves. Unless of course anyone has been down to open training and can report back ?'"
I read the piece from AP and it is, as you say, pretty reasonable stuff. A welcome change of tone for me, bearing in mind that it was comments by AP at the announcement of Radford's appointment that kicked off the 'fear' speculation.
I don't for one minute believe that Radford is ruling the players through physical intimidation. I do think that someone at the club thought it would do no harm to foster that image though. Looks like that policy is changing for the better.
I have my doubts about Radford's appointment as I've made clear since it was announced. None of them involve the likelihood of him knocking seven bells out of the players though.
