Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"I'm not often given to rallying calls, but have been reflecting on Rich's contribution to our club over the last 10 years, and I'd urge anyone who [ucan[/u get there but is 50/50 because it might rain or some such, to have a word with themselves and get down the M62 on Sunday
The word stalwart has rarely been more relevant. He's faced some adversity. I recall that awful day a few years backwhen, coming back from injury, he broke his leg in two places. Richard Agar said Rich's face in the back of that ambulance would always stay with him. Every season he states a preference for the back row, and generally ends up anywhere but. Is there a position this lad hasn't played in for the good of the team?
It's testament to his skill and ability that he won Young Super League Player of the Year 9 years ago, and has given us some memorable moments, probably Cardiff being the main one. Beyond this, though, he's won Hull FC Community Player of the Year twice, and Super League Community Player of the Year too. Last season he won Supporters Player of the Year for the third time.
We've been a bit spoilt in recent years with testimonials for Radders, Horne and Yeaman, but IMO none are more deserving than Rich. I really hope he gets a good turnout to reflect the amazing value he's given the club over the years.'"
Agree completely.
I said to my made last year that he was the best player we had ever signed. ( I was admittedly drink but you get my sentiment!)
