It's as open as it's been for years so a little bit of luck and any of the 8 could have a great year. Saints recruitment easily the best but no stand out squad throughout the division.

It is looking open with no real stand out teams on paper at least although I reckon the table will still be broken down 3 ways with Hull and Rovers in that middle batch of teams.

That said if any team finds consistency and with a bit of luck with injuries a push into the top 5 is a possibilty although that doesnt sound likely with either team from this city - injury wise!

My main concerns at the moment are getting Rankin, Biggs and Talanoa here. To have a main pivot still in Australia with pre season friendlies underway in a fortnight is worrying. Our squad is a combination of exciting young players (Shaul, Lineham, Crooks, Green, Miller), experienced campaigners (Paea, Ellis, Yeaman, Horne, Whiting, Heremaia), players needing to step up as senior squad members/leaders (Watts, Westerman, Houghton) and more than our fair share of high risk signings (Talanoa, Feka, Biggs). The range of permutations on how we might go is vast. Looking forward to it.
