Ryan was on the hull scholarship at under 14s and stayed in the under 15s despite being approached by other clubs. some of you seem to think that james rule let him go for 3 grand to wigan thats utter rubbish, he just signed forms and went at under 16 level. hull as a club treated him very well, rule, heatherington and mel harmon in perticular. the reason he left was basically down to the coaching on the scholarship and ryans progress at the time. i brought the issue up and was told not to worry wed sign him anyway, lads have to kick on and i felt ryan wasnt. steve crooks was manager at the time and i would say had a anything gos policy amateurish to say the least. lads not from hull were classed as outsiders and in 2 years i probably only spoke a handful of words to other parents apart from nicola tyson and rob wilson who were spot on. hull is a great club and an area full of talent and if they cant get a couple a year through from there something in the system is wrong. hope this helps to clear things up.
