The problem with that is that some will flourish and in fact need bawling out as it makes them play better others will go in their shell if they receive the same treatment and they react better to the arm on the shoulder approach.'"
Having watched FC this season I'd say most of them need bawling out!

| With all this business I now have 2 concerns about the club generally, not just this specific appointment:
1. Do we now have a culture of 'dead men's shoes'? Our recent run of coaches has been littered with assistants either being dismissed or replacing a dismissed head coach. It no longer seems to be the case that our coaching staff pull together towards a common goal and take joint responsibility for what's happening, far easier instead to just say the top boy doesn't know what he's doing, according to rumour. Are we almost encouraging in-fighting in some way?
2. Does Pearson have the clarity and conviction in his vision as we once thought/hoped? Or is he simply looking at what has worked for other clubs and copying out of blind hope?

He hasn't got a clue. Should have stuck to round ball.

This is partly what is annoying me about this appointment. People are saying Radford will get the players to perform blah blah blah but surely that was part if his job as assistant so either he can't actually get them to perform and its just wishful thinking or he didn't really bother trying previously because it wasn't in his best interests. Either way I don't like it.

That is what the term 'man management' refers to as a good man manager can spot it and give the appropriate feedback.

1. Maybe that's why he's employed a coaching staff who already have a longstadning friendship?
2. He's probably notice its near on impossible to attract good players from top clubs as its hard to get them to cross the pennies and that investment in youth is paramount. (added with blind hope)

My thoughts exactly. Where is the evidence that the players respect Radford enough to perform consistently well for him? If they will play for him, why haven't they for the past season?

| The fear and discipline was fine, it was his banning of Ketchup and Mayo that did it for him
