The appointment of Radford I hope will be a good one, he gets my support. Coming from in house the club won't need to find housing, Visa's, Lee can hit the ground running, he knows the club inside/out, he knows the players and the make up of their characters.

I asked the question to AP on FC Live, if Andy Hay would be replaced?

He stated Radford would absorb Hay's role & duties, in other words - not replaced.

Coaching staff is one role ,that has no restrictions on spend.

Wigan have 4/5 coaching staff for each team, 1st, Under 19's, Under 16's. by my maths thats 15 members of staff.

I'm all for any ex player taking the helm of a professional club, but come on, none of the 3 mentioned have had a stint as assistant coaches at a successful club. Anderson and Wayne cut their cloth under decent coaches.

This all seems similar to wire giving Jimmy Lowes the head coach job, only for him to be bailed out by Smith.

I'll admit i was wrong if all goes well next season, but I just can't see it.

We need to get off to a good start in 2014, but really can't see us being in a relegation battle, the recruitment for 2014 was all but done before PG was given the bullet (and we may have dodged one on the proposed Mika signing). Don't forget Radford was in sole control of coaching the defence last season so in that area we are already solid (Hudds playoff & Saints at home aside) so if we can improve our attack who knows, I think 6th again.

I agree,most coaches tend to have been average players,probably ellery hanley would be an exception but as you say brian and tony smith,daryl powell,mark aston,shaun wane,paul anderson, even richard agar all better coaches than they were players so hard to predict how radford will do with his limited coaching experience.

In 2013 a crap coaching unit was sent to the KC by a chairman who knew nothing about RL. These men promptly fail to deliver the big promises and had some lucky escapes. Today that unit will be replace by men that will not cost a fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Teamers.
