| Quote cod'ead="cod'ead"In the 50 years I've supported the club I find this one of, if not the most baffling decisions ever. I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong and will glady eat humble pie if we do kick on from here but I honestly doubt we will. So..........
To the players who obviously helped engineer this situation - fook you
To the coaching staff who also contributed to the situation - fook you too
To Adam Pearson (who took the decision) - fook you as well
At least I'll be able to save some money by cancelling Sky Sports
I've shat better than this lot'"
Pretty much sums up my feelings. If there are players/coaches who think they are bigger than the club then we are doomed to failure until they are rooted out and binned. Sadly it looks like they will be running the show now.

| Good luck Peter and best wishes to you and your family.
6th place x 2 and a Wembley appearance would be a good enough return for any team currently outside the big four (now big 5 if Hudds back up their 2013 efforts next season). The manner of performance in several games, in particular Wembley and Huddersfield last week sealed his fate. A narrow defeat at Wembley and in the playoff game and I'm sure many would have given PG a 3rd year.
We really need to get to the problem of why certain players would not play for the coach, the blame lies firmly with those players IMO as to why we now have the highest play off defeat against our name and the worst 1st half performance in the clubs history. Personally I don't want the players concerned involved at my club, whichever ones they are.
Not convinced Radders is the answer if as expected he is confirmed as head coach, with Cooke involved in some capacity, I'm sure Radders will be a good head coach at some point but he has not yet served a long enough apprenticeship IMO. Was hoping for Justin Morgan but his imminent appointment as assistant at Melbourne Storm puts paid to that.
And so to Season Pass sales, I would normally have got mine by now, I still will but haven't felt enthused enough to fill out the form yet. What concerns me are the number of fans on here who have stated "I won't get one if Gentle is still in charge" we should be careful what we wish for, as now as many or more are stating they won't get one if Radders is appointed Coach, and others stating they won't get one if Paul Cooke has any involvement with the club. On the Paul Cooke issue I think he has subsequently confirmed that he will stand by his Head Coach appointment at Doncaster, and with Doncaster now our duel registration partner this could be a good move, Cooke has won plaudits for his work at Doncaster, and if he is working with us from a distance then hopefully fans wont have too much of a problem with that. Pearson said that he will be looking to see if there is any raw talent available after the world cup and is holding some cap money back, maybe he should be advised to look on the coaching side too, Brian Smith / Stephen Kearney.
Hopefully things will start to look a bit brighter in the next few days and weeks, one things for sure we all need to get behind our club and show our support. There are still positives with the youth development set up starting to bear fruit and risng young stars such as Lineham, Crooks & Shaul commiting their futures to the cause. It's a big season next year with the spectre of relegation for two SL clubs, we need to ensure we get a strong start and stay well away from that particular trapdoor. The 18th Man can play their part #COYH

| Quote Chris71="Chris71"Same for me.
Possibly the right decision for Gentle to go but appointing Radford will be a backwards step and for me it will be the last straw and I will withdraw my pass application.
Promoting the assistant after sacking a failed head coach has never worked for this club over the last 8 years and I just dont see it working now. As an assistant to Gentle he has been part of the TEAM that has failed and as such both should have gone. The senior players with the odd exception have played Gentle out of the door and in all honesty it looks as though there has been a coup to oust Gentle as I can not believe a professional team even without a coach would have put in such a dire performance as they did on Thursday.'"
Thats due to player attitude over that period of time. With a great deal of fortune, we will see some of these players phased out and replaced with hungry youngsters who are eager to show what they can do, such as what has happened at Wigan over the last 4 seasons or so. If (and its a big if,) this happens then a retrospective thank you to Gentle for helping the academy would be in order.
Wane and Anderson have made the step up without any issues. Not saying Radford is the right man (yet) but I am not going to write him off either. Perhaps so no nonsense talking and having an intimidating boss is what a few of the players need.

| Its a shame Gentle had to go, but he did. Thursday alone was a sackable offence. Yes the players have an element of blame, but I’m sure something will happen there.
To those who were singing "Peter Gentles Barmy Army" with 70 on the board on Thursday, get a grip, there’s support then there is stupidity.
I wonder who comes in next, will it stop me getting a pass, in all honesty probably not, i have a good reserved seat and don’t want to not have that. Hull FC is what i do, its been my weekend for 23 years.
I'll get a pass and go to home games, then at least i can have an opinion on them, unlike most Blunderside callers.
The situation will probably stop me doing £600 on France, £150+ on London, £££ on "magic" waste of time, £70 on each of Wigan, Saints, Wire and Widnes. And If we spawned a Wembley trip, it will be on the cheap, not £600 like this year.
I'm glad AP has the balls to do something, i wonder how Kath and the clowns would have reacted to Thursday "it's all good, buy a pass, we'll sign a 33 year old it'll be all alright, buy a pass and get a free cap"

| Do people honestly believe that there has been some sort of coup? or that Radford would seriously tell someone some time ago that he had got the nod? I just don't buy conspiracy theories. Nice guy who didnt recruit well enough. Went for a light weight pack and it didn't work, Had to use multiple half back combinations, all of which prefered to attack the right edge. He wanted to close the distance between our best and worst and simply didnt. Huddersfield wanted to prove a point on thursday, and our boys just looked shot. Too many patched up bodies with not enough energy. Its been a long season for a squad heavily impacted by injuries.
For all of those who said that they didnt play on thursday because they wanted him gone. You simply cannot take to a rugby pitch and not be committed. You will end up getting injured. Rugby is not a game you can play half d. Pretty gutted he's gone as he seems a great bloke, but he isn't the coach we hoped for.

I think he's a w@nker but if he's given a position at our club we either all pull together or we don't.
I'll give it shot.
Think we all need to get strapped in for the ride.

Only problem is he is best of mates with some of the players causing the problems and doubt you'll see his best mates getting dropped when they are not playing well..

Yes I do when I hear it from a player at the club who was as disgusted as I am at how some people where actually treated by some who actually started it.
And there is no-way i'll say who told me as I don't want him treating as others have been..
