| Im going against the grain cos I actually think they'll do okay. Paul Cooke is extremely knowledgable on Rugby League and I think he will be an asset.

| I'm prepared to give Radford a chance. What is the alternative? Another assistant coach or junior coach from Australia? People talking about the likes of Hasler, Kearney etc need to get real.
Cooke's role presumably could be similar to that of Stanley Gene at Gateshead/Rovers. I've no problem with Cooke being involved at Hull. Very knowledgeable bloke and would be great with the young half backs coming through.

| Whist not convinced about radford as coach, some of the comments on here are way over the top. Wane and Anderson have done very well with little experience.
I prepared to give radford a chance and support, i do hope its only a one year deal though.

| With relegation on the cards i just cant see the sense in taking a chance with an unproven head coach. Its a massive gamble. Also judging by the majority of posters it doesnt look like an appointment that will go down well with the fans.
If a top NRL coach is not going to be on the agenda for whatever reasons then there are a few great coaches in the Championship worthy of consideration.
John Kear,Karl Harrison and Mark Aston.Loads of experience and would have the respect of the players from day one.

Thing is, Pearson ought to have sufficient faith and conviction in the new man to give him a long deal. We simply cannot keep starting over with a new man every year or two. Reconstruction of the team every time to give the coach his 'own players' before we can start the build for success means we'll never get there. Consistency is paramount. Perhaps this is why he's chosen Radders as he's been there during the building of the current side.
I just hope that the 'full review of first team matters' includes more than the sacrifice of Gentle as I really don't believe the coach was the whole problem. Radford needs to take a hard look at his players, friends or otherwise, and make some hard decisions to ensure that what happened to Gentle doesn't happen to him, once the love-in is over.

The big difference between those two you name is both were assistants at clubs that were already playing well and consistently under the head coaches with settled and quality sides.
We on the other hand are so up and down performance wise and have a squad that is not as good as the teams coached by Wane & Anderson.
Would Anderson or Wane have seemingly been so good at Hull? I very much doubt it.

Is that the season where Nathan Brown left by mutual consent due to him taking the jobs at Saints during the season and they Giants form then going pear shaped?
