Paul Cooke... living proof that the Vikings fcuked Goats!!!!: |
|
| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "I think people saying the squad is going to be weaker need to look at the big picture rather than simply who's leaving and who's going.
Shaul, Lineham, Crooks, Green, Bowden are all one year older and are all better players then they were this time last year, look at Wigan, they don't sign loads of superstars year on year but they remain competive because their kids roll off the production like there is no tomorrow. With guys like Cunningham, the Tyson Wilsons etc. waiting in the wings we are getting closer to being like that ourselves. Miller hasn't set the world alight but there have certainly been enough flashes of brilliance to suggest that with a good preseason he can have a good year. On top of that the full side has experienced the big occasion at Wembley and the playoffs do us no harm either.
Besides the only big miss is Briscoe. Paea is better than O'Meley (loved having the Ogre here but his time is up), Thompson will offer everything that Galea did and is still young enough to improve. Paleaasina and Lynch can't even be compared, totally different players but what Feka does give us is size and aggression which we have lacked. So that leaves Tickle and Briscoe to replace. Let's see who else we bring in.'"
Absolutely spot on

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| Quote: carl_spackler "Really don't see why we seem so keen to add outside backs. We're well stocked and mostly of good enough quality. Unless we're offloading a couple I think we'd be better served with another prop.
Fans always have varying views, so when there's such a large consensus that most of us (both on here and people I talk to) seem to agree on us needing a big, nasty prop it's a bit worrying that the club don't seem to see it, IMO. I think it's as clear as day that it's the thinnest area in the squad (at least of sufficient quality/experience). By contrast we already have 3 each of wingers and centres vying for 4 spots.'"
I'd have thought the same, unless we have faith in Wilson-Tyson and Wilson to be back up to the main 5 props.

| Paul McNicholas has been asking player managers and contacts in Australia about which young halfbacks are off contract, he was given 3 names - all of them pretty average lower graders plus the Bulldogs reserve hooker Joel Romelo.
I think Hull should be enquiring about Sam Powell from Wigan, great young player who steered England Knights to a big win over Samoa on the weekend but will probably be behind Matty Smith next season. He needs to be playing SL.

Wigan would possibly let him out on loan for a few weeks or month but if hes next in behind Smith cant see them doing it long term and that wouldnt really help us think we need someone for atleast 2-3 years till young willo is ready to be regular. imo
