I do think there has been a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes" with gentle for a while, with plenty of fans (myself included) ignoring the facts in the belief that the under performance is the exception rather than the norm and that we're on the cusp of being a great side.
Fact is that we are poor in pretty much every facet of the game except defence. Was gentle a defence coach in oz? I certainly don't think he was an attacking one.
I think he probably needs to go but where does pearson go from there? He's invested a huge amount of time and money in the club and to date we've done nothing where it matters on the pitch

When Hay went to oz for a bit and our defence fell apart a few on here felt differently. |
