I'd be amazed if it's paid, I applied to plenty of sports clubs for paid internships this time last year and the only ones who could pay were Man United and Dagenham & Redbridge!

Having said that, if this opportunity was around before I got a paid job I'd have snapped their hands off for the chance, paid or not, as EHFC said most students budget over 52 weeks, since you only get 3 payments a year.

If someone finds themselves on the dole and budgets for, worse case, a year. Them gets offered a job for no pay should they take the job? They've already budgeted for the year, whats the problem?

Also, I doubt the club were thinking of somebody on the dole when they offered this out. It's quite clearly geared towards students, hence it being an internship, not work experience (even though it's the same thing, the wording is crucial).

Somebody on the dole would be looking for paid work.

So no students are looking for paid work? Some even put it in their budgets, some just don't want to leave in massive debt.

When I graduated I knew that I would have to volunteer/sign on/work for pittance in order to get the experience I needed to move on. Worked for me.

That's not the point, You shouldn't have had too.

The big business' really on this attitude to make bigger profits.

What if you had to get a paid job because your family depended on it? You now wouldn't have that experience because you couldn't afford to gain it!
