| EHFC is right IMO, that pass was on, and if it had been taken we'd have been under the sticks.
The biggest disappointment for me tonight was the Walker try, the defence by Watts, and especially Lynch was awful. That try was the worst example of goal line defence I can remember for a long time.

| Quote Sebasteeno="Sebasteeno"Seems like another occurance of not getting up for the so called 'lesser' sides. Also giving the full side a week to toss it off in the Balearics was maybe not the best idea as its maybe put us back a few weeks in terms of fitness.'"
We've dropped 5 points all season against teams outside the 8.
Plus well worth having some time off. Bodies break. You can't smash them, run them, grind them constantly. It's a long season and energy levels have to be managed, think it was 5days off, not much fitness wise but a good break to freshen minds and bodies

| I think our attitude is wrong against the 'lesser' teams, We don't have that intensity in defence and some players seem to think it will easy to win and has cost us points . We do miss Ogre when he's not on the pitch with Lynch not looking the same this season and also missed Ellis presence last night.

| As I posted on another thread PG on the red button after the game basically agreed that the players did not appear to get up for these games and the players needed an attitude adjustment. He also thought if we had have been playing Wigan or Warrington we would have defended better.
So he recognises we have a problem when it comes to these type of games, it will be interesting to see what he does about it for the Wakey game as it is not the first time this season we have had a performance like this.

Agree with all of this. O'Meley was the only forward who showed any intensity last night and we really missed Ellis' leadership. I'm not sure what's happened with Lynch. Last season he was excellent, seems to be going through the motions at times this season. Last night we needed a leader in the forwards - and I wonder whether Gentle's decision to take the captaincy from Lynch has affected his state of mind.
Having said that it wasn't just Lynch - as a collective the pack lacked intensity in defence and that, IMO, was the main reason we lost.
The top sides turn up every week. We don't at the moment and that needs to change if we are to start challenging the top 4.
Paea will add some grunt, but I'd like to see another leader brought in to the pack to support Ellis. Oh, and I'd give Lynch the vice captaincy such that he captains the side in Ellis' absence. Houghton leads by example, but he's not captaincy material IMO.

Good post and some good points...Agree about Lynch and the captaincy and i would give the vice-capt to Whiting.

| Props are ineffective other than o'meley. Watts is better as the 5th prop playing at 13 and green is only finding his way in the team and needs the players around him to be performing better. Johnson not big enough, lynch out of form or maybe on the way down, Bowden not given enough game time and pitts isn't a prop IMO. We need paea and another big prop or next season will be a washout. We shouldn't be getting dominated by Castleford.
galea is a waste of a shirt. Why does he automatically come back in? He's immobile and the play stops as soon as he gets the ball. Should have played pitts in the 2nd row last night and had either Johnson or Bowden in the 17 instead of galea
Houghton's distribution from dummy half continues to be a problem but then we miss his defence when he goes off.
As for crookes, anyone who thinks he's an adequate replacement for Briscoe needs to actually start watching the game.
We're still a long way off challenging IMO

Wouldnt say we are a long way off.......Like you say,2 new props would massively improve us....Gentle has now got the pivots he wants in Macdonnel,DJ,Miller and Houghton/Azza...now its time to sort the pack out..for me these can go..Lynch,Galea,Johnson and Westerman..along with Ogre going we will need some in but 2 props and maybe a 2nd rower and maybe a winger to replace Crookes, could be Gentles 1st dodgy signing.

| I also think FC are either lazy or arrogant against the smaller clubs. Too many times they dont do the hard work and let the forwards lay a platfrom but think they can throw the ball around like the harlem globetrotters and win at a canter which like i say is either lazyness of arrogance or maybe a bit of both
