| Quote Rock God X="Rock God X"That can be the only explanation. I'm done now, there's little point in arguing with idiots.'"
Ad hominem again!
You can't address the argument, so you attack the arguer.
My premises stand:
There's nothing that Horne's done this year that can't be done comfortably by another capable halfback given the promise that the rest of the squad has. He has had the majority of a mediocre season thus far, with only peak in form for the previous few games, performing at the standard we should demand of our halfback to play at every week. This peak does not justify the other mediocre performances Horne has put in this season so far.
And the conclusion:
We will NOT be making any impact in the playoffs against the top teams if he's in your top 3 and your standards stay the same. More importantly, if Gentle's standards reflect yours.
I'd love to be proven wrong folks, but it seems you're all incapable of showing me instances that show that Horne has performed at this level for the majority of the year.
Hint: have a look at the games and see what he's done, or the lack of what he's done.

People aren't addressing your argument because you don't seem to have one. Quite apart from how well you think Horne has been performing or not, your assertion that his abilities as a top four halfback have any bearing at all on how he has compared to his teammates is complete and utter nonsense.

I get it now. Bradders is right. Horne did nothing at the start of the season. At least not in the first game against Leeds because he wasn't chosen. From then on, I'm afraid Bradders is talking B**l*cks
Horne’s first game of the season against Bradford:
The latter started in a new-look half-back partnership with Richard Horne, who responded to being left out at Leeds with a man of the match display.

Horne’s 2nd game:
For the second successive week Holdsworth forged a fruitful partnership with Horne, with the duo complementing each other in a combination Hull seem set to stick with for the foreseeable future

His 3rd game
Despite missing key playmaker Daniel Holdsworth because of concussion, Hull proved more than a match for last season's beaten Grand Finalists for 60 minutes of a tight and entertaining affair.
On his 350th Hull performance, Richard Horne's methodical kicking game and his side's robust defence earned them a platform to win the game, before Warrington cut loose as Hull fell away.

| Even if you prove that Horne assisted tries in games other than the previous 4 you still of you work ahead of you. You still need to prove that given the promise that the rest of the squad that there's anything that 'Horne's done this year that can't be done comfortably by another capable halfback'.
Also try assists are a pretty arbitrary statistic considering it's only judged by the last player to touch the ball before the try scorer. Doesn't automatically show that Horne's in the top 3 players of the year, or that his performances lately are anything other than a peak of form.

This is more like it. Now we're arguing properly. Thank God for that.
Although, all you've seemed to have done is copy and paste third party sources that mention Horne. I don't really care about what people say about Horne, I want to know special things he does each game to warrant a place in the top 3 players thus far. A "methodical kicking game" is too opinion based for me. Sorry.

Nobody needs to prove anything of the sort. He's not being compared to 'another capable halfback'. He's being compared to the rest of the squad. That's [iour[/i squad by the way, so your assorted mumblings about top 4 sides are also irrelevant.

Classic. The stats destroy your argument so now you have to attack them.

Hint: I have. I've seen every single game, and more importantly every single try. The latter multiple times.

Well we don't have another halfback who's fit in the squad, so you're saying you're comparing Horne's performances as a halfback to other players playing different positions? Seems a bit fishy. Are you judging Horne's performances on what he creates in a game (that's his job as a halfback as opposed to the other players you're comparing him too) or just his effort?
I don't see how a single statistic "destroys" my argument. Sorry. It goes towards your argument, but as I've already said, that single number is quite disputable and it's not certain whether it discredits mine.

Even if he was, it's a dog argument. Can a halfback only be said to be playing well if they're regularly doing stuff that is beyond the abilities of other 'capable halfbacks'?
