I'd give it a good read and a good think, because when it comes to the business end of the season a lot of people are going to be eating humble pie.

If Horne has a total mare between now and the end of the season then if there's another thread like this then he might not be in people's selections. But to aid your understanding the thread title states "half way through the season-top 3 players so far". There are some key words in there that you clearly need to look up.

Even if Horne has the dip in form you seem to be hoping for at the end of the season, nothing will alter the fact that he's been one of the best players in the first half of the season.

I looked them up.

I'm now asking you to consider this:

If Horne's general performance for the full season is what's fully required from the player playing the most important position on the pitch enough to warrant him to be in your top 3, will we be making any impact in the playoffs against the top teams?

Hint:
The answer's no.

I have no hidden agenda, I'm looking at this objectively.

I don't prefer Horne to any other player just on the basis of where he's from. Unlike some.

Horne isn't in my top 3, because I expect more from a half-back, and to justify the player getting the amount of praise that he's currently getting.

I think you need to look up on your standards.

We will NOT be making any impact in the playoffs against the top teams if your standards stay the same. More importantly, if Gentle's standards reflect yours.

The same goes to every other Hull fan out there.

Whether you consider him good enough to play half back in a top 4 team is immaterial. We're not a top 4 team at the moment and Horne has stood out in difficult circumstances.

In that case, I repeat:

There's nothing that Horne's done this year that can't be done comfortably by another capable halfback given the promise that the rest of the squad has.

If he's in your top 3, you need to re-evaluate your standards of what you expect from your halfback. You need to consider all that I've said in terms of bias before giving overzealous and outlandish remarks of praise. And then you need to put things in context: while considering all that I've said previously in regards to the playoffs, re-evaluate his performances.

He won't be any longer in your top 3.
