| Take a look at the poor guys interview on sky, itll change your opinion. We have been stupidly unlucky with injuries.... again (injuries in vital positions)

If Ellis hadn't picked up an injury it wouldn't be an issue. Stripping him of it now would be awkward to say the least.

Absolutely. The only forward who got close to finding his front regularly was O'Meley, but then the rest of his game was absolute sh*te. Bowden about our best prop today for me, and Galea probably our best forward. I wouldn't actually Galea was much, if any better than he has been, either. Said more about the rest of them. Our PTB speed is pathetic.
Seen a couple of mention half exonerating Whiting in this thread, too. (This is not specifically aimed at you, just saving the bother of a seperate post). Don't agree with them. Might have got his hands on the ball a bit more than others, but his execution poor pretty much all game. Only Houghton & Horne produced more good than bad today IMO.

It looks that way because it is that way. At one point in the first half I counted. 2 entire sets for Rovers had them land on their fronts every tackle. We had 2 in the same amount. In one set, all 6 tackles had the Hull player on his back. We are monumentally crap at this no matter how you try and dress it up.

Westerman was truly awful today. One of about half a dozen who probably had their worst games of the season.

| So, assuming Wakefield retain their lead, we are 2 fom 9 and 11th, with Wakefield and Widnes above us and both of them having a game in hand. IMO Pearson will act if we lose on Monday.

| Regarding Houghton passing right: Has anybody considered that it might be an instruction from Gentle? We have been a very left-heavy side for a few years and Gentle has correctly identified this and said he was looking to improve it this year. Maybe we've been set up to prefer the right this year in an attempt to surprise teams. I could see the logic in this even if it hasn't been as effective as hoped.

We will lose on Monday. But with all respect he should be acting right now.

Could be. The tough start was a reasonable excuse for a bit. But we've been shiit against Widnes, London and Rovers, and haven't faced either of the top 2 yet. It's been a disaster not having Holdsworth available, but he would have made no difference today. Honestly can't see Pearson accepting this.

| I have seen the replay now and it looks even worse then live, I judge coaches when they are losing not when they are winning. I am sure PG has and is under pressure the cracks are showing, the warning signs are all there. He loses on Monday and I always thought we would and he is in dead mans shoes, there is no slack on this anymore.
Adam Pearson is not a man to let the grass grow long or suffer a backlash from the fans. Next Sunday the crowd will turn on PG and we can argue till next season as to who's fault it is, PG will get the blame. Adam Peason has to act to protect his investment because as it stands today FC worth dropped to Comet levels. This continues and who will buy a season pass next season, a couple of thousand maybe.
The lack of a halfback has been an ongoing problem, but lets not delude ourselves KR managed very well in the second without there halfback pairing. We have a poor squad, poorly lead, drilled and I question of enough of them actually put the effort in required. Is it the culture now at FC to sign player who lose any talent they have and forget the basics of the game or are crocks. By the time our marque signing actually runs out ahead of the team onto the field ( if he ever does ), this season will in be to far away from us for us to make any headway. Top eight may be achievable and we may squeeze in just like we have for the last five seasons, its not good enough anymore.
I borrowed my sons pass today as he was working and since the move to Fridays has prevented me attending till today. He is working next Sunday and offered me the pass again and I am sorry to say it, but I refused his kind offer.
I personaly think that the club has now run out of time, fans will not wait another one or two season while some one comes in and "builds a team up". This should have been a year the Pheonix rose from the ashes, everything should have been in place for a season of promise. We are looking down a long tunnel for the light at the end, this is not a tunnel its a bloody cave.

| Today was crap - no doubt. We were laboured, we lacked leadership and we lacked direction. But the reality is that our leaders (Ellis and Lynch) and our general (Holdsworth) were sitting in the stands alongside McDonnell (who's been about our best player this season), Yeaman and Seymour. Take 5 or 6 players of that calibre out of any team in SL and they will struggle.
I don't think Hull have adjusted particularly well and Gentle does need to take some of the blame for that. Briscoe didn't really work at full back last week, Whiting and Westerman in the halves didn't work this week. I also agree with those who say Houghton should not be captain - he's a top player but more a leader by effort / example than someone who will rev up the other players.
But people need to stick with Gentle IMO - we saw towards the back end of last season what this team should (and will, in my view) be capable of once we get some or all of those players back.
If we're still playing like this in 8 or 10 weeks time then who knows. But with those players back I think it'll be a completely different story by then.
I've still got confidence in Gentle as our coach - and as fans we need to be realistic, understand the constraints he's currently working under and support the team.
I'm as disappointed as anyone on this board are about today's result - but chopping the coach at this stage of the season would be madness and the wrong thing to do.
