| Very hard to compare the 3 best wingers I have seen in SL era - Briscoe, Best and Raynor as all from a completely different mould. Raynor the best I have seen taking the ball up from defence but not as good in attack as the other two. Briscoe and Best have an almost identical strike record (0.61 tries per game) but cant really remember Best making "something out of nothing" like Briscoe. As far not making it in the NRL - who knows - but at least he will try and find out. Hall and Jones-Bishop hardly got taken apart by Manly's Williams and Oldfield in last years WCC.
The good news? I see a bit of all 3 in Tom Lineham

| Quote PAUL M="PAUL M"Whenever we have a star player we lose them to someone, right back to Schofield and Crooks.
We lost Manu last year.
Not saying the club could have done anymore, however the fact is we have lost a top player. We can't afford to. We'll never win anything if we do.
How many top players to Leeds lose?'"
Leeds have lost players to the NRL in the past. They may well do so again. It happens, and will likely happen even more now that the NRL is cashed up.

I had a lovely bedsit once overlooking the park back in the 80s.... ask your erm.....
four seasons ago due to work commitments I had to live in Southampton (Eastleigh to be exact) and still saw 19 live games and had a season pass matey, my eldest son lives in Scarbrough and missed 4 games last year home and away and that is a crap trek by any stretch of the imagination .

Leeds have been probably the top club in the country consitantly for the last 10 years, what is it, 7 grand finals whic leads to World Club Challenges and 4 or 5 cup finals? Thats one hell of a reason for players to stay.
They have lost playes in the past, Morley, Newton, Chev Walker, Calderwood ?
Luke Burgess ans Gaz Ellis to the NRL of more recent times

as is clearly showing presently, problem is the current regime has to wake up and see that unless they allow the clubs earning big bucks to spend big bucks they will continue to loose the UK based stars to the NRL or Union, problem is I cant see RL ever being able to compete with the cash they flash

Ellis and Morley are the ones I thought of, the others are hardly gonna hurt your club tbh.
Guess the difference is they don't have a reliance on one or two top players like we do. If we had more quality it would be less of a blow. The bright spot is Lineham, genuinely think he could be a star.

class act IMO too, also think Green could be a world class forward too, I have watched this kid progress and he has it all, speed, great hands, size and agression and tons of skill to boot.. .. think we may be coming into a period of home grown talent on show again
