Arundel got taught a lesson by arguably one of the best centres in the league, the guy will learn a lot about himself and should come back better for the experience if he doesn't maybe he isn't up to the job but give him a chance al centres can get hung out to dry by a very good opposition centre, also he seemed to turn in to help out Seymour defensively and left himself exposed as a result

I don't give a toss what colour shirt they've got on - I've seen all four players many, many times. I'd also formed an opinion on Ellis and Holdsworth because I've seen them many, many times. Are you suggesting Crookes and Arundel was deliberately under performing at their previous clubs in some kind of covert mission to get released to Hull, and now they're here we'll see totally different players????

Have you really seen all four "many, many times"? Lineham has only played five first grade games and Ben Crooks sixteen. Jason Crookes has played little more than a couple of dozen SL games. How many of them have you seen?

Crookes and Lineham I have seen loads of times in the u20's and friendlies. Between them I have seen Crookes and Arundel play about 14 games of Super League, and 3 times in friendlies. I have also seen Crookes play for Widnes and Sheffield. I watch every single available RL game on tv, without exception. All four players I have seen more than enough times to form an opinion. I'm not saying Arundel and Crookes are awful, just that I don't rate them as highly as Crooks and Lineham.

And that's absolutely the same as seeing them play against SL opposition, particularly the SL and WCC champs.

As wonderfully thought out as that post was Kosh, Ben Crooks has already played against the "SL and WCC champs" in the Super League. He has also played v Warrington twice and helped us to our massive win v Bradford.

Indeed he has. But that's not what we're talking about and not what I commented on. You said you'd seen all four players "many, many times" and that clearly isn't the case in any meaningful sense.

From what i have seen of Arundel on telly and last night,the only concern i have is that we have 2 similar centres.Young Crooks adds a bit more flair to the back line and is still learning his trade but will be a very good centre for us.I would have given Crooks the 3 shirt and have him starting this season but will see how Arundel settles in and gets his match fitness back before judging him.

Spot on regards Arundel. I also think Crooks will be very good but maybe a season too early to get the 3 shirt?

To be honest, as a Cas fan I couldn't really see why Hull signed Arundel. Personally I always felt he was a decent player but lacked the aggression both in attack and defence to be a top centre. I was disappointed to lose Westerman (though the fee was fair) and gutted when Shenton left for nothing, but not too disappointed to lose Arundel.
