I've bought 3 more passes this weekend, purely due to my salary being paid early or it would have had to wait.

The downturn this year will hit ALL clubs hard. I reckon 2 more will be in big trouble next season.

Getting closer

Whilst the actual number of season tickets is lower that expected there are a couple of factors which might need to be considered.

- in previous years the season tickets I believe were issued by the Stadium and not the Club - when re-newing my fathers season ticket we were asked to ensure that proof of age was provided to the Club. This has never been asked for before and so it begs the question how many supporters were last year using consessionary tickets and now can't re-new. Are they buying tickets at full price?

- the same goes for junior/student tickets - how many people were getting in on a student ticket whilst not actually studying? Are they buying tickets at full price?

- there is then the simple state of the economy and how many supporters have lost a source of income within their household over the last 12 months

i will be buying 2 possibly 3 passes next month how many more people wait until after Christmas

Up to 7,922 now, so close to triggering the next prize (VIP tickets to the Magic Weekend, CC Final and Grand Final)

for those who need to know, the kids passes increase in price after this Saturday.

Are the sales up or down on last year?

Would assume down on last year, as it has been a while since the club have stated that we are having 'record sales' etc

We did just over 9K last year, and sadly I can't see us selling 1,100+ before the season starts.

i would agree, it now looks unlikely that we will beat last year. witch is a surprise in my eyes. thought people would get behind the new look team. i suspect had we bagged Chase and kept hold of manu we'd have been pushing 10k by xmas. anyway, thatll do for the 'what could have beens'

the only thing that sands in the way of us reaching the sort of gates we know we can get is wining silver. and our best chance of silver will be the cup. and that ant gonna change for a few seasons yet, so its about time we started putting some much improved cup runs together

The lack of disposable income is really starting to bite in rugby IMO.

The target of 10,000 was always a very ambitious one. If we start the season with between 8,000 and 8,500 then that is still not bad going given the continuing poor economic climate. I'm sure the figure will compare well with other clubs. I've not seen many claiming record sales.
