Since Saturday my connection has been dipping in and out during peak times, and pretty slow fairly often too. I rang support earlier and they just looked at my connection from their end, asked me if anything had been changed with the phone lines, how many sockets I had, and sent me an email with instructions to test the adsl at the NTE test socket and said to let them know how it went and they could arrange for an engineer. The email came at 8.56, and when I called back it was to find a recorded message saying they were aware of a problem and were working on it, here's a number to check on progress. Called that, another recorded message said there was currently no problem. Tech support number apparently closes at 9.
Anyway, my connection does seem to be steadier plugged into the test socket, although I have still had a couple of instances of it still not working, plus it briefly worked when plugged in the usual way, so I don't know if it's just coincidence. Anyone else having problems?
Also, if it's a problem with the wiring somewhere in the house, are there any other options than for KC to deal with it, and will they rip me off? And if it is a problem somewhere within the house, why does it appear to be fine during the day?'"
