Life is a game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen. TONY D'AMATO: |

| As Rangi has now confirmed what everyone knew for ages - is it safe to assume the no doubt sizeable salary he would have demanded will be used for another number 7?
Or have we spent it knowing he wasn't coming anyway?
And by all accounts Mcdonnell is coming on a decent whack, which I don't understand as I would be happy with Horne at FB for a year.
That in mind, with no Rangi and no Mcdonnell, surley there must be a right whack left to get someone special in at 7? And if so who?
Or maybe I'm adding 2+2 and getting 5.....

We all have to grow old but we don't have to grow up: |
|
| The two players that AP alluded to on last night's sports talk on radio humberside seemed to me to be one of two possible half backs or that was my assumption from what he said regarding the question put to him so I would presume a full back is not what they're looking at, PG suggested a while back that Richard Horne would be the full back next season and I don't see why not, otherwise he may just be sat in the stand all season, can't see the point in that, and if you all remember, when AP took over one of his early statements was that it was a two or even three year project to see FC achieve the level of what he wanted to see for the club ! I know we all want to see some success next season but there's only two trophies to play for as always but surely a top four position next season would be a massive step forward even if a trophy is not forthcoming, only my opinion of course.

| Quote: BIGARR "Fact is Kosh some people (Me) want the best players possible for the club and I know that's what AP and PG want too.
Another Fact there are some people happy to go in to 2013 with Horne at 1 and Seymour at 7, is that not Mediocre?
I think it is.'"
I haven't done a survey, but I'm willing to bet that [ieveryone[/i wants the best players possible for the club. They key word in there is [ipossible[/i. Some people seem to have a loose grasp on it.
If you asked the people supposedly happy to have Horne at 1 and Seymour at 7 if they would [iprefer[/i to have better players in those positions, what do you reckon their answer would be?
People not spitting dummies about our recruitment are not 'happy with mediocrity'. They simply appreciate that sometimes plans don't come to fruition despite best attempts, and that as long as we keep improving the squad overall we'll get where we want to be eventually.

| A big deal was offered to Willie to stay, even with the Ellis Deal done plus the money allocated to Rangi so yep a few quid left however dont expect the club to be shouting about it, lessons have been learnt I'm sure since Mr Pearson's passionate frustrated outburst back in July.
Mr Mcdonell will be a good signing just watch the first league derby, is enthusiasm and willlingness now is a pleasure to watch and Mr Sandycock said the Hull crowd will love him and i belive he will be correct however they will be wearing the famous black and white.

As for the halfback, it isn't just "a halfback" that we need. We need exactly what AP promised us and that is a real quality HB. I'm starting to think that we're going to end up with either a young "project" or some underwhelming HB that we haven't heard of.
Just as an aside, can anyone name these "6 in the bag" that we couldn't announce? It seems to me that there are 3 (at most) + Galea. Either that or we're now including Ellis, Arundel, Watts and Pitts who were all already annonuced or playing for the club.'"
Out of interest, who in the SL would you say is a 'real quality' HB who we should recruit, and realistic NRL HBs?
