According to a poster on the Bradford RL Fans site it has been stated on the Telegraph and Argus site that Hull have signed Bateman, I havent checked the source and it may just be wild speculation, but it would fit in with what Unopposed said a while ago about signing another forward (obviously not Taylor as we now know). Bradford didn't sound too optimistic about getting him to sign an extended contract either, so maybe they have cashed in.
Naturally anything that could allow Tickle to be transferred to us is good news in my book so I hope you get him! Even Warrington might not be able to squeeze him under their elastic salary cap, so you may have a free run at him!

Still don't get the Bomber bashing though. He's just doing his job. He's a decent bloke who loves it at Hull, and comes across and represents our club in the public very well, IMHO.

I was told 6/8 weeks ago a deal was agreed with Bateman, he wants to come and we have offered him a very good three year deal. However his heart is with Bradford and I always assumed they would find a way to keep him but, they have limited funds to spend and he may not be able to say no to our offer.

If he came I think Tickle would go to Widnes.

It hasn't taken long for the moaners to get back up to speed. Perhaps they should simply watch Queensland if they want a team full of superstars.

Personally, I think the squad is taking shape very well. Then again, I'm not expecting us to do the double of CC and SL next year.

Well good for you, if your happy watching a team of 'also rans' next season that's fine but I think we've had enough of that and I want to see some silver-wear.

It's not about being moaners or even expecting a team of Superstars, it's being realistic and I think we have a good squad with strength in depth but it needs adding to and AP has set the fans up to expect this (after announcing Ellis) and hasn't delivered.

TBH I agree with what you say about AP, he has been very vocal especially his last outburst about spending what it takes top 4 h/backs etc. I do not doubt that AP will spend what it takes however my concerns are why are we not getting targets, & retaining players we should retain, Bomber told us after we signed Ellis agents were banging the door down!! I am starting to think they are banging the door down to get out of the room with him cos he talks shiite!
