Wow,at the time of said incident which was last december you said he was an idiotic drunk and didn't deserve a chance at our club,he knocked a policeman's hat off and you openly discussed it on this forum.

I have a vague recollection of the incident now you mention it, but I don't really remember too much about it. Still, if [iyou[/i say I said that, it must be right.

I think any player no matter who they are should be punished if they go around the town behaving like that, you have to bear in mind this was months after he was released from prison for Drink driving. Not exactley the role model we want around. Aspinwall to his credit took the punishment from the club on the chin and knuckled down, not every story turns out like this though.

On a different note I will be sad to see him go, he has played his part and really hope he can get over the whitewash in the play offs because he so deserves a try.

It wasn't a headline grabbing signing nor was it greeted with much enthusiasm by Hull fans but it turned out to be an astute bit of business by Gentle and McRae. Probably something that should be borne in mind with signings to some.

Exactly, the two positions aren't mutually exclusive. The arguments for getting rid of him at the time might well have been sound, but it's turned out that he's behaved himself for the rest of the year and had a good season.

I'm a bit like that with Galea. I think it's a bit of a risk given his age and I'd have been extremely worried if he'd been signed by the previous regime, but I've seen enough from Gentle to trust that he knows his onions.
