What I find bizarre is to use a stat that on full analysis suggests the opposite of what you are saying as evidence to support your argument.

The stats are based on this season's performance, you're right. And what they say is that when Chase has played he has provided significantly more try assists than Dobson.

You are literally the biggest contradiction on this entire site. Championing Dobson while at the same time lambasting Chase as a show Pony who sometimes doesn't perform is just so nonsensical it could only come from you.

The one thing I will say in Chase's defence at international level is that he is asked to play an entirely different role to that which he plays for Castleford, which really doesn't help. I've never understood in any sport why national coaches have a habit of picking players based on what they do at club level and then asking them to do something completely different. Either pick them to do what they're good at, or pick somebody else who can do what you want.

I don't think they are the same though, I think Dobbo offers more to a team, he plays structured and as we know can kick 40/20s for fun and can kick goals. Some-one mentioned Chase is class as the players don't know what he is going to do, I still have visions of him passing Tickle a murder ball in the International, the problem is even his team mates don't know what he will do, the evidence is that he cannot play structured rugby and his try assists at International were nothing to shout about, this is my concern but like mentioned I would take him as he is a better option than what we presently have, although for the record I believe Holdsworth will prove to be a better signing than him if we get him.

But allowing Chase the freedom to do things off the cuff alongside structure brought around by Holdsworth could be great. Houghton has developed his kicking game well over the years, and with Heremaia as well, we have plenty of options for a kicking game.
