I got a chance to chat this weekend with the 2 Canadian lads who came over to FC this summer. They both said it was an incredible experience and they couldn't speak highly enough of Hull FC and the red carpet treatment they were given. They also really loved Hull and said that people went out of their way to be nice. Glowing reports all round!
Both lads played for Canada as they beat the Lebanon Cedars 36-18 on Saturday. Graham Dobbs was a much improved player and had clearly leanred a lot in his short time in Hull. I'd never seen Chris Chalmers play before as it was his first game for Canada and he's based in British Columbia. He's a real talent and he credited his performance in large part to the things he learned in Hull.
Hopefully they'll be showing highlights of the game on Premier Sports so keep an eye out for it. Graham played hooker and Chris was at loose foward.
Just want to congratulate the club for helping the progress of rugby league in Canada. Long may it continue!
One gripe - make sure they know all the words to Old Faithful before you send them home next time! I had to teach it to them in the pub
