Quote: Stanley Unwin "Would definitely recommend one of the walking tours around the city. You get to see a lot of the sites with very informative guides and also get to see some of the things you wouldn't normally if you were just walking on your own.
We did two when we where there - a city tour and the concentration camp (which I can't remember the name of). Can't recommend enough.'"
The name of the camp is Sachsenhausen, it's to the north of the city. It's spooky and very humbling! An English speaking tour bus wont be to hard to find and it's a 'must' because you would miss so much if you didn't. The city's history is amazing and it's all right there in you face, in the old east of the city you can still see the strike marks on the buildings from the fierce gun battles with the Russians. The same street lights still stand on Unter den Linden (Under The Linden Tree's) that they hung German objectors and Jews alike. A beautiful boulevard with a dark history, like most of the city I guess!
I've been away to long to recommend the night life i'm afraid!
