How come when ogre was sin binned we then were awarded the penalty?

I thought it would then have to be a Salford pen??

I think the penalty was for holding down, and the sin bin for punching the guy who held him down.

Wondered this myself, he gave the penalty first, for holding down. But with Ogre coming up swinging I'd have thought he would have reversed it.
But nothing that ref did surprised me.

hicks was shiite today. At one stage every one of their players was stood at least 2 metres offside at teh PTB and he did feck all. Nealry cost us the game when o'meley lost it

I can't see any reference to this "rule" in the RFL official laws of the game. I know you are not allowed to change your mind once you have indicated whether you are kicking or not, but there is no mention of a time limit for choosing.

Was that the one where Heremaia knocked on? That one was ridiculous, their entire line were so far offside that by the time the pass from dummy half was reaching Heremaia there were 4 or 5 Salford players already in our attacking line.

On thread, agree that O'Meley was a bit silly and could have let the team down by costing us the extra man for a while (incidentally, am I the only one who clocked it as 11 minutes?). What really annoys me though is that there was handbags at 3 rucks in quick succession with our players not at all happy, so obviously something unsavoury was going but the officials took no notice. That will lead to a fight breaking out nearly every time.
