Houghtons performance was even more impressive considering he has been out for the past fews (since wakey away) and has hardly trained since then. I can see more to come in next cpl of games from him.
Was pushed all the way by 16 other blokes, wasnt one bad player, all raised their game. A great team performance

Houghton
Watts
Lynch

Also thought it was Aspinwall's best game in a Hull shirt by far.

Quote: Houghtons Heroes "You've got an excellent player in Manu, there's no doubting that. I'd say any SL team would want him, but Turner is an odd signing for you. You've had some truly world-class backs in the red vee, but he doesnt fit the Saints model for me.'"

I'd agree completely about Manu. He is an x factor type player, than your run of the mill solid 2nd row forward that Saints have consistedly produce over recent years, and Super League as a whole generally speaking. Really looking forward to seeing him play and hopefully he has just as big an impact as he has done at Hull.

The Turner signing is a strange one I'll be honest. He is no-where near the likes of Lyon, Newlove, Gidley etc but then these types of players aren't available to anyone in SL these days, we just have to take what's on offer. I was really looking forward to seeing what he could do put unfortunately went off injury, so I've been unable to form an opinion on him really. I was at the Hull game and I thought Josh Jones completely marked him out the game, so I've yet to see first hand anything that would warrant Saints signing him. He's probably quicker than Shenton but from what everyone says on here he is a liability defensively so I'm not sure. Just have to wait and see what Nathan Brown does with him.

Good luck for the rest of the season lads!!

I'll be surprised if you end up keeping Turner beyond the 2 years, unless he makes a move into the pack and blossoms there.

Houghton was the standout player. Watts had an excellent game too.
