They used to throw out balls with players names on. If the player on the ball you get scores the first try then you get a prize of some sort (can't remember what).
Presumably the numbers on the balls yesterday were the squad numbers of those playing for FC. Whomever got number 23 (Crooks) will have won some sort of prize.
