Being a right gripe of mine for years but now Gentle has alluded to it over the season and it mystifies me even more.

We are taking the option of bringing in ball playing forwards but why don't we currently have the support play to take advantage, Watts, Lynch and Moa at times yesterday had prime opportunities to off load and we never had anyone on their shoulders to support him or they had their backs turned away to gain a further advantage.

This is something we have lacked for years and for the life of me can't understand why we don't, not good enough? players aren't clever enough? I remember years ago when we had the likes of S.Briscoe, Horne etc playing off the forwards shoulder and we reaped the benefits.

I hope this changes/improves next year because if Gentles plan is to bring ball playing forwards in it defeats the object of doing so if we can't utilise them with our backs finding space and gaps from their offloads.

"Rome wasn't built in a day." Players have to adapt to the new style and rebuild confidence which is obviously very low at the moment. Personally I thought we did well to win yesterday and if we can get a couple of wins I'm sure the confidence will return and players will support more.

This is what we miss most about Mckinnon in my opinion

Mckinnon and Houghton missing yesterday, they both received a lot of offloads when playing

In my view we have the forwards for this but we need some better supporting backs with a higher attacking work rate. Hopefully we will bring some backs but we are losing one of the best offloading second rows in the league

But we're also bringing another top offloading back rower to replace him. Ellis has got a great offload.
