Quote GJJ 79="GJJ 79"Turner going for the big play again at the end, giving Sts another set (4th tackle, I think) which allowed them to get in the position for the attacking kick, from which they scored the match equalling penalty.
Two weeks in a row (can't comment on London game cos I wasn't there), where his high risk play has not come off and cost us points.
Think people are being unfair on Manu tho. Well policed by Sts, tried hard, just never came of for him.'"
I think are being a little economical with what actually happened yesterday.
Are you seriously having a go at Turner for trying to intercept the ball? An interception which was practically put on a plate for him by a poor pass? An interception which he got to but couldn't quite take, meaning the clock was eaten down?
Turner did make yards even when faced with several defenders in his face.
Manu, now that's a different matter. It was his least effective game for the best part of two seasons. On four occasions yesterday he had either an overlap or a massive gap to play his centre into yet he decides to step into tackler, which as you put, were policing him well. Why step into the tacklers all the time when he was being wrapped up effectively?
