Ellis was sort after by all clubs for obvious reasons and Schofield fully well knows that Ellis brings a hell of a lot more than work rate, and to claim otherwise is ludicrous.
Any player of Ellis's ability and reputation is always gonna command top dollar, but that is not to say they can never be good value. i am not one bit concerned that his salary will jeopardize our recruitment or retention going forward, nor am i concerned that his skills and qualities are anything other than of the highest order. the only risk i see is with keeping an ageing bloke on the paddock and out off the treatment room, but this is no diffident to any other player at our club or any other club for that matter.
