People really do need to wake up and smell the coffee i.e. get over the past and look to the future. Why on earth do some people feel the need to mention Radders and Vaikona in this thread at a time when we too had an inept board? We are moving in the right direction and last night typified what the rugby league community/family is all about. It's not about the past, given where we were not so long ago with the LLoyd regime - it's about the future of the sport and Hull FC. Last night was great it was especially good to see the younguns play and earn their stripes.

I was sat near some Leeds fans at last years CC final. Most of them stood and applauded Joel Tompkins try, as it was such a great thing to witness live.

The heady days of the Boulevard in the late 70's and early 80's, the 3d would often acknowledge good play from the opposition.

I clapped for the Bradford fans, who have been lied too for months/years and don't deserve it. Our own fans have been lied to for decades under various boards (just look at the 'debt free' claims of recent years, or the drug scandal coverup) so I have sympathy for other clubs fans under the same situation.

There's no wonder our fans are unpopular with a lot of folk. At times we are some of the most insular, short-sighted, and sometimes plain idiotic excuses for human beings you can have the misfortune to encounter.

I applauded them out and put a few coins in the bucket and wished them all the best because they are part of this family.
