| Another game of progress, pretty pleased with how our season is unfolding.
On saying that, we played for 30 minutes in the first half and 20 in the second. Whilst we played well for those spells, I’m a bit disappointed at the way we took our foot off the pedal. Don't think we handled the break in play well, it spoilt our rhythm but we shouldn't let that happen. Hope Gentle's not happy about it, either.
I always think there's a bit of difficulty in commenting on how players have performed in blowout games like that, as in all honesty as well as we played for most of the match, Widnes were equally awful. The first 2 tries were well worked from us, but the next 2 showed up some terrible defence from them, and that was the case all day. Some standouts for me were Lynch again, obviously Tickle, I thought Bowden did well in a decent-sized stint, Sharp had another good game, we saw a typical Houghton display for 60 minutes (Heremaia can't get fit quick enough IMO), and McKinnon was possibly the best of the lot. Seymour also looks better with every game to me, which is to be expected, even if it's happening slightly slower than we'd hope.
Mainly positives, but a particularly annoying negative with the way we fell away. We played some good stuff and racked up a score though, so maybe I'm just being a grumpy bugger.

Turner had a decent game, always impressive with ball in hand. He did shoot of the line for one of the tries although Briscoe was also caught out. Being picky he also blew a try with the first play of the game when he cut inside instead of drawing the fullback and passing to Briscoe.

| The best thing for me was how aggressive our defence is, especially big Sam. We are trying to win every collision and showing a bit of a nasty streak.
There was one tackle were the widnes player got hit by both Moa and Manu! Not the sort of sandwhich i'd enjoy

I agree he had a decent game, but as I said in my initial post I think it’s always difficult to adequately appraise players in games like that. We were so easily on the front foot that for most of the game you only see half of a player’s game. With Turner that meant you didn’t see much of his one area of concern, and in the only spell where you did he was caught out twice (not alone on the 2nd occasion though, both he and Briscoe were at fault IMO).
So I’m not saying he played poorly, simply that he still didn’t do anything to convince me he can be a first choice centre for us if we want to be top 4.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

Lynch will turn out to be a better signing than Fitzgibbon.I know 2 completely different positions but Lynch just seems to be more better with ball in hand.

Still, it'll give Gentle something to work on this week.'"
I`m with you.
Peter Gentle will be FURIOUS! He should have got the message out in the second stanza. When the tank is empty you should go for the one pointer to eat up the clock. It should be up the jumper time, and keep your eye out for the opposition coming up on the blind side.Any youngsters watching out there you do not put the cue on the rack until 80 minutes.Without a doubt you will get through. Its as simple as that.
