There are 9 full time refs - Alibert, Benthem, Child, Ganson, Hicks, Roby, Silverwood, Thaler and Turley.

If we had Ailbert in week 1 then we would'nt get him again until week 10.

That's every 9th game - i.e. 1 game in every 9.

Now explain how this works given that there are two teams in every game.

Plus each game features two clubs. Trying to ensure that [iboth[/i clubs only get any given ref every 9 games would be pretty difficult.

Now factor in the ref who serves as VR for the televised games and you get some idea of why the distribution of refs isn't as even as you might hope.

To be fair when he lets the game flow, he is one of the best ref. Didnt he ref a derby game and only give a few pens and one of them was when we kicked out on the full at the begginig of the game

Like was said earlier, when he wants to be he is the best in the business, but then he will take on another match and look like he was only informed of the rules the day before hand, and thats the inconsistency of him he can be great and he can be bloody aWFUL

He's hit and miss for me Ganson. 05 challenge cup was one of the best ref displays I've seen. He just let the game flow and even though the game still had plenty of talking points they're not about Ganson. Then you get the flip side when he seems to revell in controversy Like sending Smith off after 3 seconds or awarding dubious last second penalties. Still, I think he's one of our best refs.
