The team struggled to be paid a lot of the time and I know some players where owed money long after the sharks had been consigned to the deep . They had limited ability but they tried, more then some we have had since. It gave the likes of Horne, King and Cooke to progress into the team. Steve Crooks had them firing towards the end of the 1999 season and we managed to stay above Huddesfield, thus avoiding relegation. I know the amalgamations came in after this, but at the time staying up was important.
Fili Seru was one of the biggest wingers I have ever seen, no sorry was the slowest winger I have ever seen..............
..........was the slowest player I have ever seen.
Still some good memories from those days and some players who have and are still serving the game well.
