To be honest most peopleseem intent on doom and gloom on here. Cook was a very important player in our success, and ruined his potential to be one of the greats by a stupid mis-guided action. An action orchestrated by Hulls biggest criminal, Hudgell. Whilst he was a mug/idiot/t**t, etc for walking out on FC it doesn't justify people questioning his reasons for not playing last season. The man wanted to be there in the last few months of his mums life, if my mum ever got that ill and circumstance fell so I could take time out I would. Look at some of the garbage knocking around in SL last year, he could of played for a few teams or even someone like Fax, Widnes, Barrow last season.

If one thing to come from Cooke's career that helps others then I hope it's up and coming amatures and young professional RL players who never make the mistakes Cooke made. Could have been a legend at Hull but threw it all away in the blink of an eye.

i have always backed cookie because the club never paid him what he was worth cookie and rich horne burst on the scene together yet a couple of years later horne was on 3 times the money cooke earned so when nh offered him 140000 a year do you think he was going to turn it down. The club showed him no loyalty apart from loaning him his court fees, kath and james tried to f**k this club and paul cooke was the start i hope he spills all now and we'll probably find that cookie was treated like , and before anybody says whatever how have we played since he left.
