They could do a program app/download for people with smart phones/kindles. Once set up running costs should be minimal, fans could then download that days prog and when a player scores they could easily record tries, kicks or other notes etc on the app too. Flicking through the pages won't really be that much different.
Make the cost either per game or per season though not sure how that would work exactly, some sort of single use code with each purchase
Probably make more money on each 'sale' than for a hard copy AND the club could brag about being more environmentally friendly and in front tech wise if nobody else has done it?
Content wise I'd like to see a full player profile done of players of yore including all their stats, as opposed to just a 'where are they now' short which could easily be tagged onto the bottom of each profile. I haven't really bought progs since I was a kid when I'd buy loads of 'other' teams from the old portakabin club shop at the side of the best stand for 5p or so
