Since we already have Seymour, Ellis and Obst that can play in the halves I'd be happy to have had Nicklas in rather than Horne. 2 experienced pros and 2 youngsters looks a great balance to me.

Or, better still, if we'd waited a couple more weeks we could have got Witt.

Burnett to Quins, not sure about the other 3 though. However my point is directed more at players who are tried at SL level then dropped eg Lyne, Aldous, Green & Morrison have not done SL yet. I think instead of giving them a few games it would be more beneficial for them to do a full year, like Burnett to gain experience and build confidence at the same level each week.

To be fair, that point wasn't evident in the post I quoted.

Just had a check and Aldous was at York, Green & Morrison at Donny (there was an article on the HFC website about Green scoring tries for fun).

I agree though, Lyne seems like he could do with some Championship experience as the U20's is too easy for him, and he's not ready for SL just yet.

Be good for them will be interesting to see how they fair when we get them back and hopefully make the step up.
I think it does no harm to ship them out to learn their trade there should be no rush to get them in too young, I would love to see Lyne shipped for a 1 yr I think he could really benefit from it.

on what basis?? the guy has been a passenger for at least 2 years. miles past his best and getting progressivly older and slower....

There was no need to commit to Horne that early and reduce our options, he was hardly going to be inundated with offers from elsewhere.

It seems a particularly stupid/cynical decision when you take into account that there was a takeover imminent.

Fair point, but we do at least have the consoltation that only half his salary counts against the cap.
