| He is also starting to run some excellent lines, the one for Briscoe's first try was top drawer! I would definitely get him signed up and quick smart!!!

Still a bit early for me, but only in the context of quota. Still not sure what's going on with O'Meley, Moa, Lauaki etc. I'd hope we'd get something a week on Monday on re-signings, either as a momentum thing after beating Hudds (unlikely) or a timely derby boost.

| Quote jimmyfivebellies="jimmyfivebellies"Some people seem to want a different fullback next year, but personally think Phelps is doing good, deserves another year at least. He's at the right age, settling in well, improving week by week, and i imagine won't be on a huge salary, compared to what some NRL fullbacks will want.Concentrate our salary cap on halfback positions.'"
agreed, although he is taking up a quota spot unless we can replace him with home grown then we wont do any better for the money we have. you want your full back to be solid and not make stupid mistakes. phelps fit the bill - i mean how worried where we when tansey and (more so) hall were playing there?

| IMO Westermans defence is the reason that he's not playing 13 at the moment. His attacking ability is clearly there, but his defence isn't great, and so defending as a wide second row isn't required as much as it would be playing 13.

| Quote goochie124="goochie124"Wigan? I wasn't there so won't have seen it. Anyway, the point is that I've never felt confident with high kicks watching FC for years, with Phelps that's one worry I no longer have.
Now if he can teach some of that to Sharp then we'll be laughing!
'"
Did Sharp drop some high balls yesterday? Don't remember hearing that he did. Sounded like he was beating the first/second man as well.

Got to disagree there, would much rather have Sam Tompkins (spit!!) than Shaun Briscoe, say. Not saying I dont think Phelps is right as I think he is far more than 'safe' and would keep him for sure unless someone of the calibre of Slater or the young kid at Canberra who's name escapes me (Duggan??) became available and affordable.
