| The way i see it,It's a win-win situation for Hull.
We get a player for a knock-down value of what he would have cost under "normal" circumstances, and have him under a "probation" period til the end of the season...
If he knuckles down, keeps his nose clean and plays well...then great...offer him a new deal at season's end.
if he misbehaves and becomes disruptive, then at season's end..get rid.
I don't see much risk in taking a punt on him...

Not signing an available class player at a knockdown price would be an unbearable risk to take IMO.

To be honest, we've made an offer, that's all, it culd easily be just the club getting something in the media to detract attention from Agar's double charge and the poor on field performances, we may have made a really derisory offer, who knows.

Wasn't the book released after we'd signed him?

| He is a quality centre, no quota issues, available and we do need one. There could well be cap issues, but that can and maybe has already been backloaded to next year anyway.
He has had his problems on and off field, he has excess baggage but a good club support could maybe help. I can not see the present set up at FC helping in any way, if anything they have a worse track record then he has in dealing with players problems. Danny Brough had a few "diffiulties" with most of his clubs and he was under John Kear both here and at Wakey would seem to have settled him down. Some players like have the self destruct switch pushed down and they fade away after clubs give up trying. This would be the last house for Gleason which ever SL club he ends up at, he may know that and could turn out well.
His whole career would point to it heading towards the rocks before he even signs. I hope for his sake it works out well for him and the club, whichever club he chooses.

I believe the evidence that we certainly[i have[/i spent to the full cap - two penalties for spending over it. I'll accept the club's frequent statements that we spend at [ior near[/i the cap until someone offers evidence proving them wrong.
You claim we're not spending the cap. Prove it.

I agree, my concern is if we spend that money wisely, which I dont think we have done for many years.

exactly,
I've no doubt we've spent the full cap but as you say we clearly haven't spent wisely.
